Integrity that runs at university scale

From the thesis batches that land on the exam office every season to the evidence a misconduct committee will accept, iOriginally is built around how universities actually run — policy set by the senate, work done by real offices.

The exam-office reality

Built for the exam office, not just the classroom

University integrity work is seasonal and institutional: hundreds of theses in one week, thresholds fixed by the senate, and findings that must survive scrutiny long after the season ends. Every workflow here starts from that reality.

Thesis season is a bulk problem

Submissions arrive in waves, not a steady stream. Quick Submit takes whole batches at once, every file gets its own report and certificate, and the inbox shows live pipeline status while the queue drains. Failed checks are never billed.

Evidence a committee can defend

Original View annotates every finding on the student's original document layout — and the PDF a panel reads matches the viewer the investigator used, 1:1. QR-secured certificates add a public verification page anyone can check.

Policy bands your senate controls

Similarity bands are configured per institution — mirror a national integrity framework or your own regulations. The band appears wherever the score does, and live filters recompute against the same thresholds.

How it works

From submission to senate

Three steps between a student uploading a thesis and a record the academic council can rely on.

1

Intake

Students submit through the portal or straight from the LMS; the exam office bulk-uploads whole thesis batches with Quick Submit. Everyone sees live status, and every submission gets a receipt.

2

Triage by policy band

Each report is classified against your institution's policy bands. Clear passes move on without ceremony; the flagged tail reaches the integrity office with sentence-level findings and filters that recompute the score.

Certificate & archive

Cleared work receives a QR-secured certificate with a public verification page. The submission joins your institutional repository for future collusion checks, and the audit log and CSV export keep council records complete.

Reports that survive the committee room

When a case reaches a misconduct panel, raw percentages and screenshots don't hold. Original View presents findings annotated on the original document itself — so the investigator, the student and the panel are all looking at the same page.

  • Exact-layout reports: findings marked on the original document layout, identical on screen and in the PDF the committee files.
  • Live filters: exclude quotes, bibliography, small matches or individual sources — the score recomputes transparently, and the exclusions are visible.
  • Verifiable certificates: QR-secured, with a public verification page external examiners can check without an account.

Analytics for the academic council

Numbers the academic council will actually read

Integrity policy is reviewed by councils and quality offices, not just executed by software. Dashboards summarise volumes, outcomes and policy-band distribution across departments and terms — so the annual integrity report starts from real data.

  • Institution-wide dashboards: screening volume, band distribution and departmental patterns in one view.
  • Departments and roles: scope what each faculty sees while the integrity office keeps the full picture.
  • Audit log & CSV export: every action recorded, every table exportable for council papers.

LMS-native for instructors

Native to the LMS your instructors already use

Faculty adoption fails when integrity checking lives in another tab. With LTI 1.3, instructors create assignments, collect submissions and open reports inside Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard or Brightspace — with grading built in.

  • LTI 1.3 launch: works with any compliant LMS; SSO covers staff and students.
  • Grading built in: QuickMarks and rubrics sit next to the report, so feedback and integrity live together.
  • Student portal: live pipeline status, a receipt for every submission, and reports students can learn from.

Roles

One platform, every role

The integrity office, faculty and students see different views of the same submission — scoped by role, governed by your policy.

Configure policy bands, manage departments, and review flagged cases with the full evidence trail. Retention, export and deletion stay under institution control — and you can self-host if governance requires it.

Reports open inside the LMS, with similarity and AI-writing analysis shown separately so nothing blurs into one number. QuickMarks and rubrics keep marking and integrity in the same sitting.

A portal with live pipeline status, a receipt for every submission, and reports plain enough to learn from — so the process reads as due process, not a black box.

Signals, not verdicts: similarity percentages and AI-writing probabilities are aids for human judgment — never proof of misconduct on their own. That framing is printed on every AI screen and PDF, so it reaches every committee that reads one.
