Terms of service

These terms govern an institution's use of iOriginally. By using the service, the institution and its users agree to them. A signed master agreement, where one exists, prevails over this summary.

Last updated: July 2026

The service

iOriginally provides a multi-tenant platform for plagiarism/similarity and AI-writing detection, reporting, certificates, and administration, integrating licensed detection engines.

Access is licensed per institution under an annual license, a prepaid credit pack, or an evaluation trial, as set out in the applicable quote or order. Current plans are described on our pricing page.

Nature of results

Aids for judgment, not proof: similarity and AI-writing outputs are decision-support signals, not determinations of misconduct. Academic decisions remain the responsibility of the institution and its faculty.

iOriginally does not fabricate results. Where a detection engine is unavailable, the affected report clearly indicates that state rather than presenting an invented value.

Acceptable use

Users may submit only documents they are authorised to check, and must not use the service to infringe rights, upload malware, or attempt to breach tenant isolation.

API keys and credentials must be kept confidential. The institution is responsible for activity under its accounts and keys.

Fees and billing

Fees are set out in the applicable quote or proforma invoice and are exclusive of taxes unless stated. GST is applied as required. Payment terms follow the institution's purchase order and our invoice.

Credit and license entitlements are consumed as documents reach a completed report, per the metering described in the product. Failed checks are never billed.

Availability and support

We aim to provide a reliable service and reasonable support, but the service is provided without an uptime warranty except where a separate service-level agreement applies.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, iOriginally's aggregate liability is limited to the fees paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for academic or disciplinary decisions made using the service.
